All things New York.

http://www.nycgo.com/maps/

New York Map must have. I've been studying this, to make sure I know my whereabouts in New York before I get there... Preparation is key!!

Whilst in The Big Apple, I have a few big hits that I want to see for myself, you know the general tourist locations.

Empire State Building

Statue Of Liberty

My first trip to New York would not be complete without having a stroll around Central Park in the cold and possibly snowy weather, similarly a trip to Times Square , Macys, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman.

-MOMA

http://www.moma.org/
I am so desperate to visit the MOMA whilst in NY too, as I have a passion for art and love to visit galleries especially when I am visiting London, therefore I am most definitely going to make the most out of being in NY and will make sure I get a chance to visit and see what exhibitions are on.

'The Museum of Modern Art is a place that fuels creativity, ignites minds, and provides inspiration. With extraordinary exhibitions and the world's finest collection of modern and contemporary art, MoMA is dedicated to the conversation between the past and the present, the established and the experimental. Our mission is helping you understand and enjoy the art of our time.'

Hersheys Store, Times Square.

As a regular visitor to the US, I am a huge fan of Hersheys Chocolate, however usually I am in Florida visiting family, not the Big Apple. I have to visit the Hersheys store in Times Square and get my peanut butter cup fix and stock up for my return home.

As a bit of a museum nerd, I would also love the chance to visit American Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space one day, for a bit of a science fix, but more over would like to visit Neue Galerie, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

My list of Shops to Visit is ever growing
-Century 21
-Urban Outfitters
-Macys
-Bloomingdales
-Saks
-Bergdorf Goodman
-Barneys
-Uniqlo
-The US Topshop (will be very interested to see how it compares)
-Prada store SoHo
-Marc Jacobs/Book Marc
-Ralph Lauren
-Tiffanys (just to experience it)
-American Eagle
-Old navy
-Anthropologie
-Victoria Secret
-Kate Spade
-Pilgrim
-Pixie Market
-Tokio

MUST get starbucks in New York. Feels criminal not to.

NYC Dreams.

I want to admire a masterpiece at MoMA in New York and have breakfast near Tiffanys.

I want to feel like a real New Yorker, I want to see it all.

I want to walk the very same streets of which I see everyday on my TV set. I want to be part of what I have dreamed of from a young age, growing up with New York City as if I have already been.

I want to stroll along in central park, with the towering buildings watching over the serene open space.

I want to experience the rare occurrence of a lazy day in New York, waking up to a steaming cup of coffee and croissant, looking out of the window onto the busy streets and taking a leisurely walk through the city, reaching a small, quaint coffee shop,  where I watch passers by.

I want to eat Italian cuisine in New York, with live music as I sit enjoying the city with my friends.

I want to see a real comedy show, with an intimacy.

I want to hail a yellow cab and cross the city as an explorer.

I want to look out from the brooklyn bridge at the NY skyline.

I want to see the city lights.

I want to see all of the New York Fashionistas going about thier daily routine, rushing across the city.

I want to eat the scrumptious cupcakes in the Magnolia Bakery and live like Carrie Bradshaw.

I want to experience the night time buzz of the Meat Packing District.

I want to undergo a SoHo shopping spree.

I want to feel the anonymity of being in the city.

I want to hang out in the Lower East side.

I want to be a part of it. New York.

NEW YORK CAFES

DEAN & DELUCA introduced its first café at 121 Prince Street, in the heart of SoHo's gallery district and at the site of the original DEAN & DELUCA. A stylish and relaxing café that offered exquisite food, decadent pastries and an atmosphere suggestive of European café culture, it set the standard for the cafés to come.

SoHo

SoHo area for more cool shopping. The food is fun in this area as well. We had excellent deli sandwiches at Olives on Prince Street. The Clinton St Baking Co is notorious for breakfast.

For people who love shopping, eating, drinking and experiencing the true NYC

SoHo is also a great place for celebrity spotting, and its really close to ChinaTown, so you can eat some amazing chinese food! The atmosphere in SoHo is what makes it so amazing, there is also a bloomingdales there, and it's close to Union Square which is also a hotspot :)
It's a great neighborhood with wonderful shops and little surprises in the architecture. We ate at a pizza place (Bens?) that was crowded by locals.

Don’t take a tour bus, walk the streets and admire the vibe and buildings of this unique area.
SoHo is an amazing neighbourhood. They have a lot of high end shops, but a lot of local shops as well. Really nice area with great architecture. Really nice restaurants too.
Everyone else mentions the shopping in Soho, well go if you are interested in seeing some beautiful architecture! We did a walking tour of the area that focused on the cast iron facades of the buildings. Unless you know what to look for, you won't even realize the facades are cast iron. This was one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC for the architecture.
The deals found there are FANTASTIC! Lots of little shops and boutiques.... designer knockoffs at awesome prices look just like the real thing! Also, if you like something, act disinterested... you can haggle yourself an even better deal! Spent hours here. Would recommend it to all visitors.

A sibling to the popular Blue Ribbon Restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi offers tantalizingly fresh, somewhat pricey choices in its modest SoHo digs. Good choices include creative takes on dragon rolls, fresh sea urchin and cooked shallots and roe. A good selection of soups, salads and vegetarian dishes are also availabl

Location: SoHo lies south of Houston Street (hence the name) and is bound by Lafayette Street to the east, by Canal Street to the south and by the Hudson River to the west.

Sub-divisions: The area west of Sixth Avenue is often called "West SoHo" and differs significantly in character from the rest of the neighborhood. West SoHo is still (partially) industrialized and doesn't have as many stores and boutiques as the rest of SoHo.

Demographics: Today, SoHo is basically inhabited by the rich. Most industrial buildings were converted to condos and co-ops with the corresponding price tags (seven figures is the norm). That's not always been the case (read the "History" section for an overview of the changes in the area's demograhics).
